What is a family portrait photography?
Or rather what is a portrait of a family? Portrait in general is a picture of a person, or a sketch or sculpture, but a portrait is so much than that. It is a collaboration between a subject and in this case a photographer. It is about the balance between those two. But first and foremost : how the photographer sees the world, how he or she sees other people.

This black & white picture is one of my favorites and I remember being a child having had a stroll with my father and an uncle of mine. Just next to the vast forest. My uncle was an amateur photographer, always carrying his Minolta x300. And this moment just happened. I wasn’t ask to pose.
And it looks natural. The light was beautiful it was a sunny day. A little girl and her father. Click. How many memories like this carries everyone? How many family portraits?I have this one with me all my life.
The memory stays with it. I think that is the main magic trick of photography. It grasps moments that we don’t want to let go. Please enjoy my family portrait gallery. And maybe someday we can organize a stroll for your family and I would be holding a camera this time, just like my uncle.

I also have a special project called “Day of your life”:
The sessions usually take around 2-3 h and are a lot of fun:) I usually suggest places around Dublin that I know the light is good there and there is a shelter from the rain, but also where kids feel good and there is a lot to explore-especially for clients who come from around the country or abroad and don’t know Dublin well.
I also travel to locations to spend some time with families in their own world that is familiar to them and have their own special places- this is a project that is called “the day of your life” and is a photographic essay about family’s life including detailed shots of daily life items, portraits, candid family shots, family doing things together: ie just going for a walk on the beach
..this project takes few hours to whole day depending on location, weather and planning. This session includes: a photo book,an online gallery with full photo story from the day- for downloading and 3 xA4 fine art prints. This is €750 plus cost of traveling outside of Dublin.
Can I bring my extended family and my pet or parents to the session?

I have a special photographic project in offer called Day of your life. These are candid, natural life style but artistic portraits of family and especially children. The sessions usually take around 2-6 h and are a lot of fun:) I usually suggest places around Dublin that I know and worked at already.
From the moment I corresponded with Anna I felt at ease about the photo shoot, she was very professional and quick to respond to emails, answered all my queries quickly and concisely. When we met we were delighted she had lovely props, was very friendly and allowed us to change on arrival, she used the natural environment of our home as the background which we loved, we have very precious photos as a family and of our newborn as a result, she has a wealth of experience and it shows in the results, we will definitely be back for more photo sessions

I can not tell you how much I love outdoor family sessions. I could photograph these types of sessions all day . I can never know precisely where the shoot will take us. I aim to make this session fun (like with all other types of my sessions) and all about capturing natural connections and moments as opposed to staged poses. I am happy to travel to any location. Outdoor photography is all about light so shooting at the perfect time of day is key! Usually we start at 4 pm during summer and at 12 noon in the winter months. You could choose your local park, go to to the beach or even a drive to the local mountains (which is never disappointing).When it comes to styling these sessions I aim to stick to an earthy colour palette which keeps a nice flow between all family members taking part in the session. Avoiding bold patterns and bright colors is highly recommended. Like my other sessions I let the children take the lead, I let them wander and see what magic they can find. I bring along a some props like bubbles to help keep your little one occupied in case being out in the wild isn’t enough for them! But it usually is.
